I designed and built Appointli, a booking app used by 3–4 businesses at the same time. It brought bookings, staff calendars, and customer notes into one place. The project is now paused.

The problem

The barbershops I worked with took bookings by phone or Instagram messages. Staff spent time arranging appointments by hand. After building separate systems for two shops, I wanted one app that more salons could use.

What I built

I designed and built the app, from the database to the screens. Customers choose a staff member, services, and a time. Salons manage working hours, bookings, and customer notes.

I also mentored a frontend intern, Tereza. She built parts of the shop, holidays page, and translations, while I handled the backend and reviewed her work.

The result

The busiest shop took about ten bookings a day. We paused Appointli because it did not become profitable. I spent too much time adding features, like a shop the barbershop did not use. It taught me to talk to customers earlier and build only what they need.
